Sustainable, environmentally conscious shopping is becoming increasingly popular with consumers, particularly in the food sector. At the same time, there is a growing trend towards buying food online. Suppliers in the e-food sector are therefore increasingly faced with the question: how can I transport the goods to the consumer fresh, safe and at the perfect temperature - and if possible, without producing any more packaging waste?

One answer to this is the MB reusable container series - and in particular the new container size 600 x 400 x 373 millimetres, the MB Food & Delivery, which has been further developed for this sector. Peter Kerth, Head of Product Management at Bito-Lagertechnik: "It's not just space-saving, nestable containers that are required. Customers need a complete system. It is also important that as many different foodstuffs as possible can be transported in a space-saving manner, that different freshness and temperature zones are possible in one container and that the quality of the goods is not compromised during transportation and delivery under any circumstances. We were also repeatedly asked for a specific container height, e.g. to transport 1.5-liter bottles upright."

Features specially designed for the e-food trade
Many optional features make the container an ideal e-food system, such as dividers to ensure that nothing slips, tips over or leaks, or bottles stand securely. Insulating inserts made of EPP for various dry or chilled areas, such as for fresh and dairy products or frozen foods. The insulating inserts are available in different module sizes for two different temperature ranges in one container. The number of packages per customer can be reduced for smaller filling quantities per temperature range. Hanging options at the top edge for bags/pouches/bags make them safer to transport and facilitate order picking and handover to the end customer. Lids and seals ensure even more secure transportation.

The new container in the MB series has optional permeable walls so that the refrigeration from the corresponding transport vehicles or storage rooms also reaches the goods in the best possible way. This also reduces the tare weight of the container, which makes it easier to carry the food in the container. as
