LK Mechanik has designed a flexible workpiece carrier system made of steel and stainless steel for the safe transportation of heavy and valuable parts and components. With standard dimensions based on the F11/F76 Euro pallets, it is designed as a sustainable reusable solution to optimize the flow of materials and goods in shuttle traffic between several partners in the value chain. The new system carriers are forklift-compatible and can be folded for storage.

Drive technology units, optoelectronic components or medical device parts - there are countless systems and assemblies in industry that have to be moved through the value chain as pre-assembled and semi-finished units. Sometimes they already have considerable weights and usually still have an open design without a protective housing. Above all, however, they already represent a considerable value, which is why they should not be damaged if at all possible.

With these requirements in mind, the engineers at LK Mechanik have designed an intelligent workpiece carrier system that is tailor-made for the safe transportation of heavy, valuable and sensitive components, assemblies, modules and devices. The aim is to provide both OEMs and system suppliers with a sustainable and resource-saving workpiece carrier system for internal and external logistics that can be used in a variety of ways over the long term thanks to its flexibility, stability and variability. "It was also important to us that our new component carriers are compatible with other established load carriers and are very easy to maintain and service. That's why they have a modular design and are made of galvanized steel or stainless steel in the dimensions of the F11 and F76 Euro pallets," explains Managing Director Matthias Kroll.

Stackable reusable solution

The new system carrier from LK Mechanik is designed as a stackable and forklift-compatible reusable solution for use in production logistics shuttle transport and can be adapted to different product geometries thanks to its clever design. The decisive factor here is the interchangeable footprint, which always has product-specific and labeled attachment points.

Together with the robust statics of the steel system carrier, they enable extremely precise and secure fixing of the pre-assembled, semi-finished or finished assemblies. Pockets for accompanying documents and type plates for electronically readable QR, DMC and barcodes are also provided. And the workpiece carrier system from LK Mechanik can be folded into a space-saving, compact format for storage or empty transportation.

New carriers for new structures

The first industrial customers have already expressed their interest in the new component carrier from LK Mechanik. This is because in many places, in the course of setting up and optimizing new production and supply structures in the supply chains, preference is to be given to load and workpiece carriers whose sustainability is reflected in a long service life, reusability and ease of repair.

"Thanks to its robustness and stability, our new carrier system is also suitable for use in rough and rugged production environments such as those found in the finishing stages of foundries and forging operations," says Managing Director Matthias Kroll.

As standard, the new workpiece carrier system from Heuchelheim is based on the dimensions of the established F11 and F76 Euro pallets. However, the flexible production structures of LK Mechanik also allow special dimensions to be realized according to customer requirements.
