Sorting system
Mobile vertical sorter ensures flexibility
The Denisort Compact vertical sorter is a mobile, very compact system from Swiss material handling specialist Ferag and is suitable for sorting goods weighing up to seven kilograms.
According to the manufacturer, Denisort Compact is ideal for CEP services, 3PLs and users from the e-commerce sector who are looking for a sorting machine to increase throughput at peak times or to supplement the ramp-up of their basic system. The system, which can be configured for a throughput of up to 4,800 units per hour, is also ideal for processing returns.
Based on Denisort technology, the Compact system combines the advantages of tilt and slide tray sorters as an integral solution. Ferag has also designed the chutes of the discharge points in such a way that the sorted goods can slide out gently and undamaged. This means that even delicate products such as electronic components or glass vials for medicines can be handled without any problems. The same applies to the sorting of strapped and tied parcels weighing up to seven kilograms, for which the compact system is predestined. The standard tray size is 650 by 450 millimetres.
Flexible thanks to modular design
According to the manufacturer, the user benefits from the high flexibility of the system, which can be easily moved from one location to another thanks to its modular design, the stable and self-supporting frame and the supplied rolling device. Thanks to the modular principle consistently implemented by Ferag, maximum scalability is also ensured: Customers of denisort compact can choose from the outset how many standard modules they would like to have. Depending on their requirements, they can order the sorting machine with two, four or six manual feed stations. At the same time, the Swiss company offers the option of up to 22 delivery points with the aforementioned chutes. If the user's requirements grow, the mobile system can also be expanded at a later date and the desired elements retrofitted at short notice.
Another advantage of the Compact system is its comparatively short set-up time and fast commissioning. For simple, static sorting, a definition file is used and loaded onto the controller. For dynamic sorting assignments, the vertical sorter can be easily connected to a higher-level system environment (WMS / WHC). The identification of the placed sorting goods takes place automatically by reading a barcode via a corresponding camera. The system is designed for manual loading as standard. However, the items and parcels to be sorted can also be fed into the tray via an automatic infeed conveyor. as
