With new roles at Logimat

Item is showcasing its expanded portfolio at Logimat. New additions to the MB modular system include swivel and fixed castors for loads of up to 60 kilograms, which can be used to customize tugger trains for transport tasks.

The new PU 140x110 swivel and fixed castors from Item's MB modular system are suitable for transporting loads in warehouses and on production areas using tugger trains. The castors are mounted directly in the grooves of the support frame. According to the manufacturer, this flexible arrangement enables optimum directional stability and leads to high variance in the tugger train's travel behavior. Speeds of up to 16 kilometers per hour can be achieved and, depending on the diameter, the rollers can withstand a load of up to 600 kilograms.

With its modular philosophy, Item aims to enable the construction of versatile and resilient tugger trains that can be flexibly adapted to different conditions. Base frames made of aluminum profiles of various dimensions and suitable connectors open up all possibilities for the modular addition of superstructures depending on the length, weight and shape of the transported goods or other specific requirements. The Solingen-based company also ensures a connection to driverless transport vehicles to enable optimum process control in the age of Industry 4.0.

Item can also be used to design equipment according to the lean principle in order to specifically increase added value in production processes. The designs are based on the D30 profile tube system, which, in combination with components from the lean production modular system, meets all the requirements for lean processes. Item also shows how processes can be automated using gravity purely mechanically and without electricity, compressed air or other drives. These Karakuri applications enable flexible adaptation to changes in the production process and take the strain off employees. In this way, low-cost (intelligent) automation leads to cost-efficient and simpler processes in intralogistics, some of which are significantly time-optimized. The Karakuri applications can be combined with components from the MB Building Kit System and the manufacturer's workstation system. as
