Freight elevator
Transporting heavy components for train production
Lödige Industries supplies Swiss rail vehicle manufacturer Stadler with a new freight elevator to optimize production at the Bussnang site.
In future, the Olympus elevator will connect the material storage level with the production and paint shop levels. This will allow heavy and bulky components such as chassis or aluminum assemblies to be transported vertically faster and more efficiently.
Installation of the new freight elevator will start at the beginning of November and should be completed by the end of the year. The Olympus, which can easily transport loads of up to 20 tons, will then replace an existing, less powerful system and thus significantly optimize Stadler's internal material flow at the site.
"In production, we attach great importance to the highest quality and precision as well as efficient and flexible processes. To guarantee this, we rely on high-performance and high-quality elevator technology from Lödige Industries. We have been working together on a basis of trust for a long time and are absolutely convinced of their expertise," says Roger Widmer, Head of Technical Services at Stadler. Lödige Industries already maintains a large part of the elevator technology at the Bussnang site and will also be servicing the new Olympus goods elevator over the next five years.
"With our Olympus, Stadler has additional capacity to transport heavy loads quickly and easily between the different production levels. The system consists of high-quality components that fit perfectly into the structural conditions. This enables us to help optimize intralogistics processes in a short space of time," says Stefan Jost, Managing Director of Lödige (Schweiz) AG.
