Production logistics
Efficient Kanban down to the last meter of production
Production lines in Industry 4.0 must be able to react quickly to changes. The so-called Kanban system has proven itself here as a logistics solution. With the flex direct rack, Dresselhaus offers a module that ensures the high efficiency of Kanban right up to the last meter of production.
In the age of Industry 4.0, highly flexible production lines that can react quickly to changes are a crucial prerequisite for companies' competitiveness and economic success. A missing screw can turn out to be a grain of sand in the gears: Such a C-part is small, inconspicuous, inexpensive - and yet indispensable. Because if it is not available to the process at the right moment, delays and undesirable costs occur.
Direct racking flex for the last meter to the production line
Dresselhaus offers its partners in industry a special solution in the form of the flex mobile direct storage rack, which extends the high efficiency of a Kanban system to the last meter of production. flex direct storage rack can be loaded from two sides and can hold up to 56 direct containers per side on six to eight shelves. Despite its impressive dimensions - height 1.70 meters, width 1.20 meters, depth 0.70 meters - the flex direct storage rack is mobile thanks to its robust roller chassis including parking brake and can be positioned exactly where it is needed.
The Direct RFID Kanban System from Dresselhaus extends the tried-and-tested Kanban system developed by Japanese car manufacturer Toyota in the 1950s with the functionality of RFID technology. The result is a largely automated and therefore highly efficient logistics system that ensures that all C-parts required for production are always available in sufficient quantities. Thanks to its modular structure, the Direkt RFID Kanban system can be adapted and scaled to individual customer wishes and requirements.
Kanban meets RFID - added value for Dresselhaus partners
The basic elements of the Direct RFID Kanban system from Dresselhaus are the direct rack with RFID mats, the direct containers and the direct labels. The direct controller as an interface completes the ensemble: it forms the basis of the so-called RFID station, in which the C-parts are stored until they are requested by production.
Every container movement is recorded by software and documented in the Dresselhaus direct portal. This provides the customer with online information about the status of their system at any time, including real-time shelf visualization. Based on this data, all items are planned close to consumption, stocks are regularly optimized and statistical data is updated. Delivery and retrieval are carried out just-in-time - and with the direct shelf flex, even directly to the production line.
The wide range of possible applications for the flex direct shelving system is just one example of the solutions specially tailored to customer requirements from the value-added specialists at Dresselhaus. You can experience and see the DIREKTregal flex in the Dresselhaus value-added center in Lemgo.
