Jungheinrich has introduced a new remote control for its ECE family of horizontal order pickers. The Easypilot Follow is a semi-automated control system that allows the ECE to follow its operator independently.
The operator carries an operating unit in his trouser pocket or on his belt and can concentrate fully on the picking process. The associated ECE positions itself precisely so that the goods can be placed directly in the right place on the fork. The vehicle is always available at the picking station, it follows the operator as he moves forward and stops in the exact position. This eliminates the time-consuming process of frequently getting on and off the truck and the long walking distances from the picking station to the order picker and back. The Easypilot Follow thus enables error-free picking processes.
There is a secure connection between the operator and the vehicle at all times thanks to UWB radio technology. This prevents malfunctions due to optical obstacles or other sources of interference. The Easypilot Follow can be used on all Jungheinrich horizontal order pickers; the remote solution can be retrofitted to any ECE with Easypilot preparation.
The easyPILOT Follow is also an effective means of increasing safety in the warehouse. Using modern laser scanners, an ECE equipped with the remote control option constantly checks the area in front of the vehicle. This enables safe navigation and positioning in the racking aisle.
