Counterbalance truck

Diesel forklift for eight tons

Clark has once again expanded its range of IC engine-powered counterbalance trucks and is launching the C80D900, a new diesel forklift version with a load capacity of eight tons and a load centre of 900 millimetres.

Like all Clark vehicles, the C80D900 is designed according to the "built to last" concept. It has a fully welded, robust frame, a stable steering axle and a robust mast with a solid eight-roller fork carriage with four side support rollers, while the lifting cylinders and low-noise lifting hydraulics ensure smooth and quiet load handling at a lifting height of up to 6,030 millimetres (with triplex masts). The diesel truck also has a 25 percent higher residual capacity.

To achieve this, Clark has designed the truck to be significantly more robust for intensive use with high payloads: The vehicle has a revised drive axle, the frame and mast have been reinforced and the counterweight has been made 500 kilograms heavier. This makes the truck ideal for tough outdoor use, for example in the construction industry, the building materials trade and wood processing, the metalworking industry, the paper and beverage industry as well as in freight forwarding and logistics companies.

Power under the hood
The Deutz TD 3.6 l engine with 55.4 kilowatts at 2,300 revolutions per minute and a maximum driving speed of up to 29.4 kilometers per hour ensures powerful acceleration and reliable operation. The vehicle is equipped with a fully automatic three-speed gearbox ("Power Shift") as standard. This enables delay-free and smooth shifting and safe maneuvering. The decoupling of the engine, transmission and drive axle reduces vibrations and noise to a minimum.

As with all forklifts in the series, the C80D900 is equipped with low-maintenance wet multi-disc brakes as service brakes and an independent drum brake as a parking brake as standard. This enables smooth and sensitive braking. Due to the low wear of the brakes, a long service life is guaranteed, which has a positive effect on operating costs.

The truck also scores highly when it comes to maintenance, with error codes guaranteeing simple on-board diagnostics without the need for complex service tools. For maintenance work, the cover can simply be opened and the service technician has quick and easy access to all maintenance and wear parts. This reduces downtimes for maintenance work and ensures high availability.

The manufacturer promises driver comfort right from the entrance: the driver can reach his ergonomic workplace comfortably and safely via two large, low-set steps. The footwell is generously sized so that the driver has enough space even when wearing safety shoes. The tiltable steering column and the comfort seat can be individually adjusted. The driver can operate the truck intuitively thanks to the ergonomic control levers mounted on the hood and the car-like arrangement of the gas pedal pedals. Mini levers are also available as an option. The large color display with access to maintenance and service settings provides information on all important driving parameters. Easily accessible storage compartments round off the driver's workplace.

All-round visibility for a high level of safety
For a truck with a load capacity of eight tons, the C80D900 has a comparatively slim mast profile. It also has large viewing windows on all sides. This gives the driver excellent all-round visibility and an unrestricted view of the load and fork carriage. This is made possible by the arrangement of the chains and hoses on the mast. Clark uses double primary cylinders to ensure good visibility even with triplex masts. The optional rear view camera or the new Clark SafeView@360 360-degree camera system increases safety when working in confined spaces and critical areas in the warehouse.

The Clark SafeView@360 is a new 360-degree camera system consisting of four digital cameras that provide the driver with a 360-degree view directly on the display. The digital camera technology can react particularly well to difficult lighting situations by dynamically adjusting the exposure parameters. This prevents heavily overexposed or underexposed images, for example in the case of light/dark transitions between the outside and inside areas of the warehouse. In addition, the use of digital cameras allows the image streams from the four individual cameras to be converted into a common image in real time, so that the driver can see the truck from a bird's eye view. In particular, the fork tips and the rear weight are precisely integrated into the seamless image. Thanks to this perfect all-round view, the driver can navigate safely and quickly even in tight, confusing situations.

Various options
The vehicles are available with Clark fork positioners and with an integrated sideshift. Hydraulic accumulators are used for the transportation of sensitive goods. Numerous optional extras are available for the C80D900 diesel forklift truck, including a full cab with air conditioning, Clark Vertical Mast System (VMS) for vertical mast positioning at the touch of a button, an audio system with MP3, quick-release couplings, various driver's seats, seat belt monitoring and an orange seat belt, non-marking SE tires, complete LED lighting and a blue safety light for forward and/or reverse travel. as
