Vario buffer conveyor belt
Conveyor technology that buffers products
ASP Automation has developed a conveyor technology system, the Vario buffer conveyor belt. The system is used as a buffer, belt and goods carrier conveyor.
Here, the products to be conveyed are not transported directly by a belt, but on individual chain segments. The chain segments are stopped by stopper units at the pick-up and removal points. As the belts run continuously around the belt strand, the individual chain segments accumulate at the stopper units until they are released. This means that a product can always be deposited at the loading station and products are always available for removal at the removal station. Meanwhile, the link chains in between continue to be transported and accumulate one behind the other.
A VPF consists of one or two profile sections; depending on the product size and customer requirements, a third or fourth profile section is installed. ASP aluminum profiles form the basis of a profile strand, onto which guide profiles specially developed for the VPF are screwed. There are two grooves in these guide profiles, in each of which a toothed belt is guided. The toothed belt is used to transport the chain links or chain segments.
In order to drive the timing belts, there is a drive unit on each profile strand to which a geared motor is flange-mounted. A stopper unit, consisting of a magnetic cylinder that stops the circulating chain segments for loading and unloading, is located at the start and end of each belt. As the stopper units are located at the start or end of the belt, light scanners are installed on them to enable product queries to be carried out. The timing belts and chain segments are returned at the start and end of the belt by means of deflection units.
Individual chain links are joined together to form chain segments. The products are transported on these chain segments. Like the belts, these chain segments are guided in the guide profile. Magnets are used in the chain links to guide the chain segments back on the underside of the profile strand. As a steel mesh is incorporated into the belts, the chain segments are transported back on the underside of the profile strand.
The entire conveyor belt is built according to a modular principle. The basis for this is provided by ASP's own aluminum profiles. In addition, the base frame is also made from our own aluminum profile specially manufactured for this type of conveyor belt, ensuring a high level of stability for the base frame. as
