Accumulating conveyor with elevator
Tünkers has developed an accumulating conveyor with elevator module. This means that routes with height adjustment between loading and unloading can also be mapped with a classic accumulating conveyor.
Accumulating conveyors are used in body-in-white automation as transport and buffer sections. The overall length of the conveyor, determined by the size and number of parts to be stored, determines the layout of the integrated robot cells. The new AFS conveyor with elevator system from Tünkers provides more planning freedom.
Height jumps can be set up with this system as an integrated conveyor line, with a control effort that is comparable to a conventional horizontal belt. As an option, corner transfer units can also be integrated into these conveyor lines, so that the space utilization of the conveyor belt can be individually adapted to the layout conditions in the cells.
The new elevator module allows many routes and tasks to be mapped with a classic accumulating conveyor, such as height adjustment between loading by workers and removal by robots or conveying parts to a second production level. According to Tünkers, a particular advantage is that the belt module in the rotating and lifting element does not require its own drive thanks to a specially developed connecting element. The mechanical engineering specialist also points out that the seventh axis can be dispensed with. All components of the new modules are based on AFS modular elements. as
