Trade fair duo in Dortmund

Maintenance and Pumps&Valves in February

Final preparations are underway in Dortmund: On February 21, 2024, maintenance will kick off as the leading trade fair for industrial maintenance and with it Pumps&Valves as the trade fair for industrial pumps, fittings and valves. Trade visitors can expect around 240 exhibitors, a complete overview of both industries and a varied and sophisticated supporting program.

Around 190 exhibitors will be represented at maintenance, providing a balanced mix across the entire spectrum of industrial maintenance. Numerous market-leading companies (such as Hansa-Flex, Henkel, Pirtek, SAP and WISAG) will be represented, as well as many medium-sized specialists and service providers and a large number of innovative start-ups (including DED Services, endiio Engineering, Peoplegeist/Freshmarket and SparePartsNow).

WISAG Industrie Service Holding and IFS Ultimo are once again on board as premium partners. They represent two central and very different pillars of maintenance: services for industry and maintenance software. Both areas are strongly represented at maintenance and even if the area of software and digitalization is quite pronounced and allows a look into the (near) future of industrial maintenance, a large proportion of the exhibitors also stand for "classic" maintenance, which will not lose its importance. Examples here are: AAW Montagetechnik, Hytorc, KTR Systems, Peter Cramer, Pferd-Werkzeuge, SKF, tempLED, TLT-Turbo and Vogel Elektromaschinenbau. Just as exciting is a brief overview of the new exhibitors at maintenance 2024 - these include companies such as Adler Direction, Disbon, Efaflex, Etapart, Henkel, Röwaplan and Sitech Site Services.

Around 50 exhibitors await visitors at Pumps&Valves, including Atlas Copco Power Technique, BestSens, Dickow, Düchting, Fristam, Heinrichs Messtechnik, IST, John Crane, Netzsch, RS Rittel, Stübbe, Taicang and WP-ARO. Trade visitors should inform themselves in advance about the practice-oriented supporting program. Among other things: On the first day of the trade fair, Thomas Dimmers from Pump Consult will explain "Ten features for the efficient and safe operation of a centrifugal pump", and on the next day he will give a 45-minute workshop on "The centrifugal pump in the cooling water circuit - designing and improving a pump system". Prof. Marius Geller from Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts will also be giving another interesting presentation.

All three events will take place in the SolutionCenter, whose two stages will once again be packed full and where various experts will discuss a wide range of topics, such as the maintenance and servicing of pumps, predictive maintenance, digitalization and condition monitoring in general. Together with the other formats, the comprehensive supporting program offers visitors a unique opportunity to keep up to date with the latest developments in modern maintenance, to learn more and to obtain information. In addition to sustainability in maintenance and predictive maintenance, the focus will also be on the use of artificial intelligence and the benefits of ecosystems and platform economies, which can be found in the ScienceCenter and on the guided tours. The latter will be curated for the first time this year by Fraunhofer IML with a high level of expertise and will focus on the topic of "Pioneering technologies: discovering AI in maintenance". There will be one tour on each of the two days of the trade fair.

The lecture program of the proven ScienceCenter, organized in cooperation with the Fraunhofer IML, also offers lectures on topics such as AI, prescriptive maintenance and platform economies under the title "Predictive Maintenance: Next Generation".

Of particular note is the topic of collaboration and ecosystems in maintenance, which is currently a hot topic in the industry. For example, a panel discussion with representatives from FVI, endiio and Rodias, among others, moderated by the trade magazine Instandhaltung, will address the question "The great interplay: Does the maintenance industry need to forge alliances?". This topic will also be discussed in the once again popular open lecture by Prof. Dr. Lennart Brumby, Head of Studies at the DHBW Mannheim. "Service Partnerships in Ecosystem Maintenance" is the title of his lecture, which he will give together with the Managing Director of WISAG Industrie Service Holding. The Verband für Anlagentechnik und IndustrieService e.V. (VAIS) is also organizing a panel discussion for the first time at the upcoming maintenance on the topic of "Service partnerships: The underestimated efficiency contribution for customer industries", which will be moderated by Managing Director Dr. Dietmar Kestner and will feature exciting guests. In addition, the VDI Young Professionals of the chemical industry will be part of the supporting program for the 9th time with their expert forum on the first day of the trade fair and will deal with topics such as the ecological footprint and the advancement of artificial intelligence.

The overview shows: The duo of maintenance and Pumps&Valves will offer trade visitors the opportunity to catch up on the latest knowledge of modern maintenance and pump and valve technology in a short space of time. Interested visitors can already get an idea of what to expect on the homepage of both trade fairs. You can also register directly and look forward to a "double pack" of industry trade fairs (one of which is the leading trade fair in the sector) with interesting discussions and many innovations.
