For the first time on SPS
Digital services for maintenance
Schaeffler is exhibiting at the SPS trade fair for automation technology for the first time - as a specialist in digital services for maintenance.
Schaeffler will be presenting solutions for the interpretation of vibration and operating data from systems that already have sensors as well as for the analysis of systems that do not yet have sensors. Both market segments offer the manufacturing industry significant potential for increasing OEE and Schaeffler therefore has opportunities for growth based on its own domain expertise.
In most production systems and machines, auxiliary units in particular have not yet been monitored or have been monitored inadequately. This means that there is no comprehensive view of the machine condition, which includes all subsystems and auxiliary units. Schaeffler closes this gap for the PLC with the digital ConditionAnalyzer service, which automatically analyzes data from various wired vibration sensors and provides accurate diagnoses. Schaeffler is also presenting the ConditionAssistant application, a solution that requires virtually no hardware and analyzes additional measurement data such as temperature and noise. Both applications offer customers digital access to Schaeffler's domain expertise and generate concrete added value for maintenance engineers.
Rauli Hantikainen, Head of the Industry 4.0 Strategic Business Unit, explains: "The detection of certain bearing failure mechanisms, the interpretation of bearing conditions and relevant maintenance information are thus made easily available to operators and maintenance staff. Only when we keep an eye on the condition of all assets can machines and systems run reliably and in optimum operating condition without unplanned downtime."
