Igus ensures clean pools
When the temperatures slowly start to rise again, it's time to get the swimming pool in the garden in shape. However, the dirt from leaves and moss that accumulates over the winter months is often difficult to remove. The Poolwonder Turbo XL provides a remedy. Xiros radial deep groove ball bearings from Igus ensure smooth running.
As spring approaches, it's time to clean the pool again. The new Poolwonder Turbo XL pool vacuum cleaner weighs just 1.4 kilograms and, with a suction width of 40 centimetres, makes light work of vacuuming up sand, leaves or dirt from the pool floor. The battery-operated model fits on any telescopic pole with a clip system and a diameter of 30 millimeters and is suitable for daily cleaning of swimming pools up to 50 square meters. Due to the special area of application under water, Poolwonder has decided to install components that are corrosion and maintenance-free, such as the Xiros polymer ball bearing made of high-performance plastic from Igus.
The Xiros B180 polymerball bearing is used in the Poolwonder Turbo XL as an additional guide for the motor shaft under the propeller and the first shaft seal. All products in the Xiros range, including Xirodur B180, are lubricant-free. As no lubricants can be washed out or decomposed by external influences, the environment is not contaminated.
This also makes the bearings suitable for installation spaces that are difficult or impossible to access. In the Poolwonder, the bearing is enclosed between two seals, which would make relubrication more difficult. Igus also points out the long service life and corrosion resistance of the Xirodurmaterial. This makes the polymer ball bearings particularly suitable for applications such as the pool vacuum cleaner.
The radial deep groove ball bearings made of XirodurB180 are suitable for use in temperatures ranging from minus 40 to plus 80 degrees Celsius and for shaft diameters of three to 60 millimetres. The ball bearings from Igus have already proven themselves for the Poolwonder Turbo XL model.
