Linear units

Made of stainless steel for the food industry

In the food industry, machines and systems have to meet special hygiene and cleanliness requirements.

DiMotion has developed a linear axis made entirely of stainless steel especially for this industry. The series axis is available in two sizes under the designation LDMB 50 and LDMB 80. Its performance is comparable to that of an aluminum axis - both in terms of dimensions, load ratings and feed forces as well as movement and positioning accuracy.

Linear axes form the core of any automation system - from simple palletizing applications to complicated insertion devices. In harsh environments, such as in the food and beverage industry, automated motion sequences require components that are adequately protected against corrosion or aggressive cleaning agents. Strict hygiene regulations also apply in some areas of the food industry. This requires linear units that are particularly easy to clean - i.e. without hidden edges, narrow grooves, undercuts or closed cavities in which dirt and germs can accumulate.

DiMotion's series axles are designed to meet the high demands of food processing: The components are made of corrosion-resistant steel, electropolished and the axles have an open, easy-to-clean design. They are also low-maintenance and permanently lubricated. The drive can be easily mounted using adapter flanges and clamping sets. DiMotion offers the stainless steel units in various carriage lengths and designs, with stroke lengths from 100 mm to 2500 mm and a payload of up to 50 kg. The repeat accuracy is up to 0.1 mm, the maximum speed is 4 m/s and the maximum acceleration is 50 m/s². They achieve a positioning accuracy of approx. 0.05 mm.

In addition to the food environment, the stainless steel units are also used in the packaging, chemical and pharmaceutical industries as well as in laboratories or in applications with particularly aggressive media.
