Saves space
With the rodless air cylinder series ZX from Airtec, the required installation space is halved, the manufacturer promises. The ZX-K short cylinders in this series are designed to save even more space.
The double-acting pneumatic cylinders with sliding or roller guides are available in freely selectable stroke lengths of up to 6,000 millimetres. Power is transmitted by means of a driver attached to the piston, which extends outwards. For this purpose, the cylinder tube is slotted along its entire length. A highly flexible elastomer sealing strip is used to close the slot, the deflection of which enables the piston to move. The short cylinders have adjustable end position damping and magnetic pistons for non-contact position sensing. Cylinder switches can be integrated directly into the sensor grooves of the profile tube.
Airtec offers the short cylinders in versions with five different piston diameters from 25 to 63 millimetres. In addition to a version for air connections on both sides, there are also versions with six connections in one cylinder head as well as versions with two front connections or one front and one side connection. The short cylinders are designed for use in a temperature range from minus ten to plus 70 degrees Celsius and are also available in an explosion-proof design. as
