EP(X)-II linear units
New size for robust positioning
With the double tube units of the EP(X)-II series, RK Rose+Krieger offers a robust solution for the occasional to multiple daily movement and positioning of medium to high loads in any installation position. Following on from size 40, another popular axis size, size 30, has now been added to the portfolio.
Like their predecessors, the EP(X)-II linear units also compensate for high bending moments during manual and motorized adjustment. However, according to the manufacturer, they are easier to maintain and easier to clean. The concept of split guide nuts also contributes to the ease of maintenance: This can be easily replaced in the event of wear without having to dismantle the linear axis.
The tension-free mounting surfaces of the EP(X)-II units are characterized by a straightness of 0.2 millimetres. In addition, the new double-tube units impress with very good running properties combined with greater rigidity and freedom from play of the guide carriage over the entire stroke. Modern materials and their optimized combination, as well as the standard use of high-performance sliding guides, ensure the improved running properties, reduced wear and thus a longer service life of the optimized EP(X)-II linear units. RK Rose+Krieger replaced coated metal bushes with adjustable, conical sliding bushes made of a special plastic.
A manual, force-locking spindle clamp is available as an option. It is designed to ensure secure locking of the guide carriage and thus prevent unintentional movement of the carriage. The linear units of the new series are compatible with the previous EP(X) units in all functional dimensions, external dimensions and spindle pitches. This means that applications in which the older models are used can be optimized with the new double-tube guides without any design effort. It is not necessary to replace accessories such as handwheels or position indicators. as
