Lubrication-free plastic ball transfer units
Igus has further developed its polymer ball transfer units for transport tables. The new rollers ensure a five times higher load capacity and are lubricant-free and therefore maintenance-free.
Ball tables are used wherever sensitive or heavy loads are transported from A to B: Be it circuit boards, food, goods in airports, glass panes or goods in the sheet metal working industry. By using ball transfer units in the conveyor tables, loads can be moved quickly and easily in all desired directions.
The new ball transfer units from Igus are made from high-performance polymers and ensure smooth-running transportation even with heavy loads, the manufacturer promises. The material Xirodur B180 is used for the further developed polymer ball transfer units. In contrast to metal ball transfer units, the dimensionally identical ball transfer units are lubricant-free and therefore maintenance-free. This means that no grease can adhere to the transported goods.
The use of a plastic ball makes the new castors suitable for transporting sensitive goods. In addition, the ball transfer units can be used in any installation position, whether horizontal, vertical or overhead, which now also extends the range of applications for the furniture industry.
Five times more load capacity
The optimized polymer ball transfer units have a new housing interior so that they can now take up to five times more load than before. The ball transfer units are currently available in three sizes and can withstand an axial load of 150 to 500 newtons, depending on the size. Due to their material, they are particularly abrasion-resistant, have a long service life and have an electrically insulating effect.
The rollers are mounted by pressing them into the holder. If the user wishes to additionally secure the polymer ball caster, Igus offers a clamping ring for an extra firm hold. If required, the use of glass balls inside the housing allows the ball transfer units to be customized as a completely metal-free and therefore non-magnetic solution. as
