Slewing ring bearing
Lots of movement without space
Igus has developed a new rotary table bearing series for medium loads for fast rotary movements in confined spaces. The slewing rings are maintenance-free and wear-resistant, 50 percent smaller in height and 60 percent lighter.
High cycle rates and loads, for example in welding systems, indexing tables or the packaging industry, are extreme requirements for slewing rings. To withstand these demands, Igus has been offering slewing ring bearings with plain bearings in its range for 15 years. The Iglidur polymer slewing ring bearings (PRT) have radially and axially acting sliding elements between the inner and outer rings of the bearing, which are made of aluminum or stainless steel.
The maintenance-free sliding elements made of the high-performance plastic Iglidur J ensure that friction and wear are minimized without the use of lubrication. The high-performance plastic can withstand a maximum surface pressure of 35 MPa. Igus also offers FDA- and ESD-compliant variants from a quantity of 1.
The company has developed the PRT-04 series so that users with compact installation spaces can also rely on Igus slewing rings for medium loads. Compared to the PRT-01 series with an inner diameter of 100 millimeters, this series can save up to 50 percent space and significantly reduce the moving mass. This means that even flat applications can be realized, for example in automation technology, in sorting systems and in control panels or in stage and lighting technology. In addition, the new slimline design saves the user 20 percent in costs.
Different sizes and accessories
The PRT-04 series is available directly from stock with internal diameters from 50 to 300 millimetres. Igus also offers a comprehensive range of accessories for the slewing ring bearings. From drive journals, variable rotation limiters and toothed rings to clamping levers.
The new slewing ring bearings have also proven their durability in the company's own 3,800 square meter test laboratory. The data collected in the tests is fed into the Iglidur PRT slewing ring configurator and enables customers to quickly select the right slewing ring bearing and calculate the service life in the individual application. as
