Precise conveyor technology
The new MACM series centering units from SMC make it possible to precisely position heavy loads with small cylinders. They can carry heavy loads weighing up to one tonne and move them in all directions with a centering accuracy of plus/minus one millimetre.
"This makes it possible," says Michael Becker, Product Management at SMC Germany, "to achieve workpiece positioning in conveyor lines with significantly smaller and more compact cylinders." As a result, customers and users save space and costs. The units are made of stainless steel and have three different table materials made of plastic or stainless steel. SMC also points out the space savings and reduced consumption: If there is no room in conveyor systems for large, heavy cylinders, the MACM centering units open up an elegant way out: they can be used to position the conveyed goods perfectly, even with small cylinders. At the same time, downsizing reduces the cost of installation and energy costs. A photoelectric sensor can be fitted to monitor the locking or unlocking status.
