The MiR1200 Pallet Jack uses 3D vision to identify objects and pick up and deliver pallets with high precision.

With this function in combination with the ability to avoid obstacles, the manufacturer says it is setting new standards for automated pallet logistics. By adding the Pallet Jack to its portfolio, MiR aims to become a comprehensive provider for autonomous material handling in production plants and warehouses.

AI perception for autonomous transportation

"The MiR1200 Pallet Jack is our latest contribution to pushing the boundaries of autonomous material handling. We are convinced that the integrated AI perception systems are a significant improvement over traditional recognition methods. Our approach will shorten pick-and-place cycle times and deliver industry-leading pick accuracy. This will enable us to continuously deliver advanced, AI-based features and value to our customers," says Mads Paulin, VP of R&D at MiR.

Easy to integrate into existing AMR fleets

The MiR1200 Pallet Jack is designed to be integrated into existing MiR-AMR fleets. It works together with MiR AMRs. According to MiR, it is therefore particularly suitable for large companies that generally operate more complex workflows with larger fleets and multiple locations.

"The MiR1200 Pallet Jack is the latest addition to our wide range of MiR-AMRs. It adds a new application area to our existing solutions for transportation scenarios from small to heavy loads, pallet handling and more. All robots can be seamlessly managed and integrated via our industry-leading fleet management tool MiR Fleet and monitored and optimized with MiR Insights," says Jean-Pierre Hathout, President of MiR.

3D vision: navigate safely even in challenging environments

The 3D vision capability makes it possible to handle material handling in complex environments, which has previously been a problem for automation solutions. For example, the MiR1200 Pallet Jack can dynamically adjust its route to avoid obstacles such as loose objects on the floor or hanging cables. It analyzes a large amount of camera and lidar data in real time. This is done by accelerating the entire stack on the GPU as well as other processors integrated in the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin module.
