Motek 2019

Mara Hofacker,

Simply network screwdriving systems

At Motek, the international trade fair for production and assembly automation, designers and users will find cross-sector solutions ranging from detailed solutions to turnkey system solutions. Deprag Schulz will also be there to present its innovations for optimizing assembly processes - such as the Deprag Cockpit software solution.

In addition to tried-and-tested components, Deprag Schulz will be presenting new highlights to support the networked, digital factory: pioneering "smart tools" that can be connected to the newly developed Deprag Cockpit software solution. All assembly tasks can be centrally monitored, analyzed and optimized.

Digital communication platform

This new digital service provides easy access to the networked factory. With Deprag Cockpit, the user has an overview of any number of different screwdriving technology control systems - regardless of the manufacturer. "The software collects all assembly-related production data and makes it available in a structured and user-friendly way. It's never been this easy," says Stefan Müller, Head of Software Development at Deprag.

The data from several company plants including their production lines with the connected devices converge centrally in one place, the cockpit. The production plants can also be distributed worldwide. The software solution can be configured decentrally via the "Internet of Things" and current operating data can be retrieved. The software helps employees to monitor the production data of different assembly lines. They can see at a glance whether everything is running smoothly in production or where intervention is required.

As many control systems as possible that play a role in the production process are networked with each other. This ensures reliable production data acquisition and enables detailed evaluations. The user can view and compare utilization and usage statistics, identify trends and optimize processes.

One software solution - many functions

The software allows the monitoring and evaluation of screwdriving controls and results and provides analysis tools for continuous process optimization and trend detection. Saving reference curves and intelligent algorithms enable the user to identify potential at an early stage and react to changes quickly. According to the company, the fastest possible optimization of screwdriving processes means less reworking is required, production time is improved and the quality of production and products can be ensured or even increased.

The Deprag Cockpit offers the prerequisites for maintaining control over fastening processes in daily production. The individual screwdriving results (duration, rotation angle, torque) as well as measured variables and tolerances of the screwdriving curves are displayed in a structured manner. Critical applications are immediately identified through monitoring. The user can observe and analyze these specifically and narrow down the causes: Are the same workstations always affected? Does the error only occur at certain times, for example when changing operating personnel or product batches? Assembly problems and necessary actions can thus be identified and implemented more quickly.

The individual screwdriving programs can be viewed in detail to assess the screw connections. Tightening curves can be graphically superimposed directly on one another. Different devices, stations or even individual work shifts can be compared with each other to evaluate their utilization. In addition, NIO screw connections can be filtered so that errors in the assembly process can be easily found. If error messages occur, they are clearly displayed - the tool shows suggested solutions and thus supports rapid decision-making.

Process monitoring, process documentation and notification

Monitoring parameters can be configured individually for each screwdriving program. If these deviate from the set tolerance, the user is automatically informed - by e-mail and visual display in the cockpit. The notifications can be set separately for each user and for each device.

Comprehensive process documentation is becoming increasingly important. All parameters for the individual screwdriving programs are stored in the Deprag Cockpit. Changes are saved. Operating instructions and important documents for devices or device groups can also be stored. If maintenance work has been carried out, this can be documented in detail. This makes it easy to see which intervention was carried out when and by whom.

Customers who would like to take a closer look at how the Deprag Cockpit works can do so at the Motek trade fair stand. In addition to the smart software solution, the new eacy step feed system and the Deprag Plus screwdriving system will also be presented. Another attraction for visitors is the live show on the topic of "The future of screwdriving technology" - daily at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. directly at the Deprag stand.
