Mitsubishi Electric, a supplier in the field of factory automation headquartered in Tokyo, not only supplies its customers with robots, control and drive technology, but also supports their Industry 4.0 projects at all levels. To this end, the Factory Automation EMEA division will in future also rely on Contact Elements for IoT to intelligently network production facilities and bundle them into a single platform.

"With Elements for IoT, our customers can implement complete solutions for the digital factory that are individually tailored to their requirements and take existing infrastructures into account," says Thomas Lantermann, Senior Business Development Manager e-F@ctory Solution at Mitsubishi Electric Europe, Factory Automation EMEA. " Contact Software adds a strong player to the e-F@ctory Alliance."

Contact Elements for IoT generates digital twins of Mitsubishi Electric industrial robots in order to visualize and further process the operating data from the integrated condition monitoring. Sub-process systems can be added to an overarching process context, for example to automatically trigger predefined actions - such as when production processes need to be optimized or maintenance tasks are due.

The openness, connectivity and wide range of solutions offered by the technology platform open up extensive options for Mitsubishi Electric customers. This enables end-to-end store floor management in the factories, which is linked to the internal company IT and continuously increases process performance.
