SKF Motion Technologies on a stadium tour with Universal Robots
For many years, SKF Motion Technologies has been working on individual solutions for cobotics and the associated Industry 4.0. The result is a broad and powerful portfolio of high-quality, combinable actuators and lifting systems that make entire assembly halls flexible and mobile.
In May, Universal Robots is organizing a roadshow through six Bundesliga stadiums in Germany's metropolitan areas. Under the motto "extend robots reach", SKF will be presenting two of these individual linear axis systems, the Liftkit and Slidekit, which can be used to extend the working ranges of the cobots. The combinations are used for pick-and-place applications.
"Liftkit and Slidekit are plug-and-play systems including all the necessary mechanical and electrical interfaces to the robot," says Katja van Schagen, Application Engineering Manager at SKF Motion Technologies, who will be accompanying the roadshow. "They enable the user to operate the system after just a short setup time. A medium-sized company that sets up two or three cells with collaborative robots can become productive immediately thanks to the lift and slide kit without any development effort."
The tour begins on April 30 at the Opel Arena in Mainz and takes the teams from the premier league of robotics and linear technology to five other Bundesliga stadiums throughout Germany. On May 7, the Mercedes Benz Arena in Stuttgart is on the agenda, followed by the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig on May 10, the Audi Sportpark in Ingolstadt on May 16 and the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund on May 21. The roadshow will conclude on May 29 at Hamburg's Volksparkstadion. Each one-day show will be rounded off with informative workshops and presentations.
