Automated machine loading. With Gripkit-PZ, Weiss Robotics offers the first fully integrated gripping solution for machine loading with universal robot arms. The solution contains all the components required for mounting on the robot arm and for connection to the robot controller.
With the Gripkit-PZ, Weiss Robotics is further expanding its series of turnkey gripping solutions for Universal Robots. The latest member of the family is based on the ZPG centric gripper, which is equipped with the award-winning smart pneumatic technology from the Ludwigsburg-based gripping specialists. Valve technology, position sensors and a powerful gripper controller are already fully integrated into the gripper housing, meaning that no additional external components are required.
Thanks to its IP54K protection rating, the Gripkit-PZ is particularly suitable for use in harsh environments directly in the machine tool, explained the manufacturer. The precision-ground T-slot guides of the gripping module ensure centering accuracy and high robustness at the same time. The integrated gripping part detection eliminates the need for the usual external proximity switches. This results in a more compact design of the gripping head than conventional pneumatic solutions, which has a positive effect on the interference contour and therefore on accessibility to the process and the reliability of the application.
Programming is simple using the supplied UR-Caps plug-in, which extends the robot controller with graphical function blocks for gripping. This reduces the training time to a minimum and the machine loading can be programmed in no time at all. For easy handling of raw and finished parts, Gripkit supports configurable grips that can be taught in directly via the robot's teach panel.
In addition to the actual gripping module, the Weiss gripper solution includes the appropriate electrical and mechanical adapters between the robot and gripping module, as well as the necessary connection cables and detailed integration instructions with application examples. If several gripping modules are to be operated on the robot, the company offers additional adapters for operating several gripping modules on the robot arm. For the gripper fingers, the user can choose between fingers specially adapted to the application or the use of standard fingers from the product range. as
