Schmersal presents new generation of position switches
At this year's Motek in Stuttgart, the Schmersal Group will be demonstrating how even traditional standard components can be improved.
According to the company, the new generation of PS series position switches offers users greater flexibility, easier handling and reduced warehousing costs.
The PS product family is designed according to the modular principle: The user can order it as a complete switch with actuator or alternatively just the basic switch without actuator. According to the modular principle, the basic switch can be combined with the necessary actuating element, which can be selected from several possible versions, depending on the application. All elements are interchangeable and can be combined with each other - and can therefore be used universally. The modular design reduces the number of variants in the product series and, as a result, reduces stock-keeping costs.
The position switches are used across all sectors in all industrial environments and are used to detect and monitor the position of moving parts on machines and systems as well as laterally sliding or rotating protective devices. They have positive break NC contacts and can therefore be used in safety-related applications, e.g. for monitoring the position of safety doors up to performance level (PL) d.
The position switches are characterized by a compact design so that they can also be mounted in confined installation spaces. Thanks to the IP66 and IP67 protection ratings, they are also suitable for use in unfavorable ambient conditions.
