Under the term U-mation, Weidmüller combines various automation and software portfolios to create customized solutions - tailored to the customer's specific application. The portfolio combines modular automation hardware as well as engineering and visualization tools with digitalization solutions and thus enables the intelligent connection of all process levels - from the sensor to the cloud. The portfolio includes the U-control 2000 controller and the U-create software tools.

U-control 2000 is a 54 millimeter slim controller with two Ethernet, one CAN and one u-remote I/O interface. The control module enables projects to be saved, has a USB service interface and allows data to be exchanged. A 512 Mbyte RAM, a battery-buffered real-time clock and a slot for micro SD cards up to 32 GB are also included. The controller has a dual A9 core architecture with separate real-time and non-real-time. U-control is the hardware platform for U-create web, U-create studio and U-create IoT. This coordinated hardware and software can be used to solve many automation tasks - from sensors to the cloud.

The Weidmüller software tools are part of the U-mation modular automation system. The range extends from web-based software that offers location-independent access to machines and systems, to communication in the cloud using IoT technology, to the implementation of complex control tasks in a familiar engineering environment.

U-create web is the web-based engineering software for configuration, system parameterization and programming in accordance with IEC 61131-3. The software is available via a web browser, requires no installation and can therefore be used as an engineering platform regardless of hardware and operating system. The range of functions can be extended with additional software apps.

The open platform U-create studio, with its open Linux architecture on the controller, enables many options for installing application-specific software modules and thus adapting the U-control controller to individual applications. U-create studio has a Codesys V3.5 development environment and supports all programming languages defined in IEC 61131-3 such as: ST, AWL, KOP, FBS and AS.

In addition, a C/C++ environment allows object-oriented programming. The engineering tool offers simple configuration, diagnostics and 3D simulation of the system. A powerful debugging and trace tool supports error analysis. An OPS-UA server is implemented for M2M communication. Ethercat and Canopen fieldbus masters and a Modbus TCP slave complete the system. The U-create studio software is compatible with the U-control and U-remote hardware solutions.

U-create IoT is a web-based, license-free software for U-control that can be accessed using a standard web browser. Data can be sent directly to the cloud via Node-RED. The cloud providers Microsoft Azure, IBM Cloud and Amazon are supported. The web-based software environment can be used on any device and platform. The security-by-design concept guarantees a high standard of security. U-create IoT runs on U-control 2000 and is compatible with U-remote I/O modules. as
