Plug holder for easy handling

A connector holder should not take up much space, securely hold connectors in place and be easy to handle - because assembly has to be quick. The new M8 connector holder from Hebotec is designed to meet these expectations.

Sensor cables connected via connectors that bring signals to switching elements require secure and reliable fastenings. The M8 connector holder from Hebotec requires little space, is very robust and is easy to install. "There has never been a solution like this on the market before. For us, the main focus was on simplifying handling," says Managing Director Markus Böhringer.

The holder is mounted directly with an M4 cylinder head screw. Or not: because the M8 plug holder can be bayed. For this purpose, there is a rail on one side of the base (called a "dovetail" due to its shape) and the counterpart, a groove, on the other side. Simply push the dovetail of one plug holder into the groove of another and you're done. This makes it easier to fit several M8 connectors: Those plug holders that are located between two screwed ones can be easily inserted without tools.

Combination with M12 connector holder
The dovetail groove principle also works between different sized connector holders from Hebotec: the M8 connector holder can be easily combined with the larger M12 connector holder - without wobbling or coming loose. In order to fix connectors reliably, they are clipped into the connector holder from above. The rounded protrusions at the top along the inside of the plug holder are an important detail: they are designed to ensure that plug connections can be easily pressed in from above, but do not accidentally slip out again.

Once clipped in, four plastic lugs on the inside of the connector holder are inserted into the groove of the connector. This locks it in place and prevents it from being moved lengthways. Even if, for example, tension is applied to the connector, it remains securely in place. as
