Lapp: Ölflex Classic FD 810

A sustainable cable with a PVC sheath from Lapp has been nominated in the Drive Technology and Automation category in the competition for Product of the Year 2024. The Ölflex Classic FD 810 is the prototype of a cable with a sustainable PVC sheath.

In the field of cable and connection technology, Lapp has been working for some time on how to reduce the_{CO2 footprint} of its own products. One solution: the use of bio-based plastics as jacket materials. So far, however, it has not been technically possible to produce the important PVC jacket material entirely from bio-based raw materials. The sheath of the versatile Ölflex Classic FD 810 therefore consists of a PVC compound with a bio-based content of 42 percent. For Lapp, the Ölflex Classic FD 810 is the ideal starting point for further projects in the direction of sustainability and reducing the_{CO2 footprint}.

With the Ölflex Classic FD 810, customers acquire a sustainable cable variant and thus reduce their own_{CO2 footprint} without having to accept compromises in quality or product properties. Durability, flexibility and mechanical properties as well as resistance to hydrolysis, chemicals and UV do not differ from those of its cable siblings made from conventional PVC or TPU.
