Thanks to the new technological implementation of the platform concept in version 2.8, digital twins can be set up and used seamlessly from model and software simulations to real-time deterministic hardware-in-the-loop simulations. Users, particularly in plant and mechanical engineering, can reduce commissioning times by up to 90 percent. Based on this open platform with standardized integration mechanisms for virtual components in libraries, with virtualized controllers from various manufacturers as well as specialized simulation solutions from third-party providers, customer-specific, optimized simulation solutions can be developed. Thanks to the intuitive configuration interface in 3D and existing component libraries, no specialist knowledge is required in this project planning phase. The system test on a digital twin as a hardware-in-the-loop simulation also allows precise statements to be made on performance, accurate to the fieldbus cycle of one millisecond, for example, taking into account all components and assemblies including the fault situations of assemblies - right through to factory simulation. as
