I/O plug connector
Compact with high transmission speed
TE Connectivity announces a Mini I/O Cat 6A cable connector. According to the manufacturer, this combines a compact design with high transmission speed. The Mini I/O connector will be available in a version for field assembly and a version for series production of cable assemblies.
This new product complements TE's family of industrial mini I/O connectors that support serial, fieldbus and Ethernet communication with data rates of up to 10 Gbps (Cat 6A). The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is increasing the number of electrical connections within industrial automation and for linking to higher IT systems. However, traditional connection solutions such as RJ45 connectors do not have the performance, reliability and design required for modern industrial applications. The Mini I/O family is designed to ensure better shielding against electromagnetic interference (EMI). Compared to traditional solutions, the Mini I/O offers significantly higher shock and vibration resistance as well as more stable connections thanks to a robust mechanical interface with two contact points each. sw
