Solution for remote maintenance of machines and systems
Maintenance through the glasses
With Visual Assistance from sawing and storage technology specialist Kasto, users can send live videos via tablet, smartphone or smart glasses and receive visual assistance and information in real time in the event of faults or maintenance work.
Kasto is expanding its range of services with Visual Assistance: at the heart of the smart remote maintenance system, which the company is showcasing at Intec, is an interactive app for tablets, smartphones or smart glasses. Customers can use it to connect with service staff via video and audio stream. Users and technicians share the same field of vision in real time. This makes mutual understanding much easier and helps to quickly identify individual system components and any faults.
The Kasto experts can also use the app to provide visual assistance and show markings in the live video, for example. While the customer carries out maintenance or repairs on the saw or storage system on site, all the necessary information is shown directly on the display using augmented reality. If they use the smart glasses, they also have their hands free - which makes their work even easier. Time-consuming training or expensive journeys are no longer necessary with Visual Assistance.
Efficient energy utilization
Kasto offers its automated storage systems with energy recovery and integrated energy storage on request. Excess kinetic energy that is generated, for example, when the storage and retrieval machine brakes or when the lifting gear is lowered, can be converted into electricity, stored temporarily and used flexibly. This not only reduces electricity costs, but also improves the grid quality, as power is drawn from the grid more continuously and peak loads are avoided.
Operators can often even plan and work with smaller transformer stations, which massively reduces investment costs. Existing storage systems can also be retrofitted with an energy recovery and storage system. Kasto demonstrates the energy concept in Leipzig using a Unitower tower storage system.
Band saw series live in action
Kasto will also be exhibiting the flexible and universal Kastowin band saw series at the trade fair. This is designed for series and production sawing of solid materials, pipes and profiles. It consists of five fully automatic band saws that cover a cutting range of 330 to 1,060 millimeters. The manufacturer refers to extensive standard equipment and an optimum price-performance ratio.
The most compact model, which can process materials up to 330 millimetres in diameter, can be seen live in action at Intec. The machines are suitable for machine and tool construction, the steel trade, the automotive industry and aerospace technology, among others.
The Kastowin is also available with a movable material support table for heavy workpieces and as a special version for processing pipes. The Kasto-win pro AC 5.6, which is optimized for use with bi-metal and carbide bandsaw blades, ensures short cutting times and a long service life. as
