TSN starter kit from Kontron
Realize real-time applications
TSN is becoming increasingly important for the realization of real-time applications for Industry 4.0. The TSN starter kit from Kontron helps to set up TSN environments quickly and securely.
A PCIe card with an optimized DMA interface and 8 DMA channels enables the alignment of TSN priorities in order to minimize latency and jitter. The new IEEE 802.1Qbu standard makes it possible to pre-empt packets that require hard real-time.
802.1CB functionality ensures redundant frame transfer in safety-critical applications. Two different FPGA versions support shape-based or time-gate-based prioritization. Kontron offers functional compliance tests for validation. An open62541-based demo application "OPC-UA over TSN" helps to establish the data transfer. The card includes a switch to integrate additional devices. An updated Netconf daemon based on netopeer2 ensures centralized management.
