How big data becomes information

Siemens is going big again: Products, solutions and services from the Digital Enterprise portfolio will take center stage at the more than 4,000 square meter stand in Hall 11.

Among other things, it will show how the next stage of digital transformation can be achieved with edge and cloud computing as well as artificial intelligence.

AI services to improve system availability and product quality

Siemens offers support - from consulting and implementation through to optimization - to exploit the rapidly growing volume of data associated with digitalization. This also applies to AI-based services where the field level is connected to the edge and cloud. Here, data is analyzed both locally on the machine and subsequently in the cloud using AI-based algorithms. This enables the customer to predict unplanned machine failures and adjust product quality. Data sovereignty always remains with the owner of this data.

With Predictive Services, Siemens is presenting modular service packages to detect and correct faults at an early stage. In addition, with "Closed Loop Analytics Services", Siemens will be demonstrating how data analysis and AI can be used to realize previously unattainable potential in the production and process environment. This can reduce testing costs, increase production throughput and improve machine learning models with new data in Mindsphere.

Siemens will also be presenting Cloud Connect products at the SPS as part of Digital Connectivity. This allows data from any system to be transferred to the cloud easily, quickly and securely. With the web-based Simatic PCS neo process control system, customers have direct system access at any time and with any end device via a secure Internet connection. The Simatic PCS neo system software makes all information accessible with just a few clicks and, together with the consistent object-oriented data model, increases efficiency in engineering and operation.

Siemens Plantsight, the cloud-based portal to all plant information, will also be on display. This allows data to be validated and visualized efficiently. This creates a consistent digital context across different information sources and data formats. Plant operators can thus benefit from increased operational readiness and reliability of their plants. as
