Organizations are increasingly adopting a mix of cloud platforms and looking for a consistent user experience to balance individual needs, costs, risks and preferences. Dell EMC offers pre-built solutions for a variety of multi-cloud platforms and reference architectures. These include Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solutions with VMware for traditional applications, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) architectures and containers with Pivotal for cloud-native applications, an enterprise-class public cloud platform with Virtustream and on-premises Azure services with the Microsoft Azure Stack. By integrating hardware, software, tooling and documentation, companies can reduce implementation time, simplify day-to-day operations and achieve a higher level of efficiency and transparency.

Dell EMC and VMware simplify and accelerate the path to the software-defined data center (SDDC) and multi-cloud with solutions based on Dell EMC VxRail and VxRack SDDC Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI). VxRack SDDC is pre-integrated and provides the latest technology automatically with VMware Cloud Foundation.

VxRack SDDC has new features to meet all workload requirements and provides the VMware VCF Software Suite. In addition, the solution offers enhancements for automation and service capability in the SDDC Manager, optionally also for multiple public cloud providers. Automation of desktop provisioning (VDI) via VMware Horizon is also optionally part of the solution.

With Dell EMC VxRail as a pre-built and pre-validated IaaS platform and infrastructure foundation for PaaS, organizations can quickly design, deploy and easily operate a complete SDDC - including VMware NSX and the VMware vRealize Suite. New VMware Validated Designs options for VxRail support multi-availability zone architectures and multi-site scenarios with disaster recovery. This allows users to further reduce risk and operate and maintain with a validated, standardized SDDC design based on VMware best practices.

To accelerate IT projects, VMware Cloud Assembly - the new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)-based cloud management solution component of VMware Cloud Services - will also provide a unique integration with VxRail. Once Dell EMC VxRail is certified for this, there will be a synchronized version; it will be the first and only jointly developed HCI appliance that is seamlessly integrated with VMware Cloud Services.
