Connection with power
To simplify communication with the active energy management systems from Michael Koch GmbH, the company offers a compact communication adapter with automatic detection of the interface (RS422 or RS485).
The device also has an external 24 V supply. This is intended to simplify and stabilize communication between PCs with individual or bus-connected electronic devices. A power supply of 150 mA is normally permitted and guaranteed via USB. If more is required, there is a dependency on the current carrying capacity of the PC's USB interface. With the adapter, an additional external 7 to 24 VDC supply is possible, which frees you from this dependency.
At the same time, the adapter automatically adjusts to the RS422 or RS485 standard with an autosense function. A 1 meter long USB-A to USB-B cable is included for connection to the PC, while a 1.5 meter patch cable with RJ45 plugs is included as standard for connection to the energy management system. sw
