According to the manufacturer, Research Studio is easy to use and has been optimized for collaboration between users of all experience levels. The software provides the features needed to analyze live and recorded thermal imaging data and capture meaningful results. Because Research Studio supports Windows, MacOS and Linux operating systems, users can analyze data from multiple Flir cameras for R&D and from different recorded sources simultaneously across platforms.

The software can visualize the effects of temperature differences for its entire target range and create line profile and time-temperature history plots of multiple source files simultaneously at the touch of a button. With Research Studio offering features such as individual workstations, R&D teams can collaborate efficiently and productively.

Thanks to the plug-and-play connectivity of multiple thermal imaging cameras and a simplified "connect, record, share" workflow, users can quickly start collaborating. Users can also save their workstations. This allows their colleagues to view measurement results and export videos, CSV files and other third party formats for easy sharing and reporting. With the addition of multiple language support for accurate transcription, these features help reduce the risk of misinterpreted measurement results and increase efficiency.
