Multiscan solution
Simultaneous scanning in incoming goods
The Multiscan solution from ICS enables simultaneous barcode scanning on shipping documents and thus ensures significant time savings per shift.
Labels on pallets and load carriers, such as GS1 transport labels, often have several barcodes, each containing data on the sender, article, batch and shipping unit number (SSCC), for example. With traditional scanning solutions, the codes previously had to be recorded individually, which is time-consuming. Last but not least, it can be difficult to find the desired code when the codes are next to each other. This results in multiple scanning attempts and even manual entries.
With Multiscan, ICS has developed a solution that captures multiple barcodes simultaneously with a single scan and automatically delivers them to the right place in the software input screen of the vehicle computer or forklift terminal. Multiscan is tailored to customer requirements, integrated without great effort and works with state-of-the-art handheld scanners such as the DS36 series from Zebra. The entire barcode data of a label is immediately available in the warehouse management or ERP system for further processing. The individually configured solution guarantees end-to-end process reliability and significantly increases productivity in intralogistics. The costs are amortized within a few months.
Andrea Wipprecht, project manager at the Hamburg beverage wholesaler Göttsche, reports: "With ICS Multiscan, our forklift drivers now scan the pallet barcodes much more conveniently and quickly. Thanks to the new solution, the truck unloading process has been optimized and can be completed 10 to 15 minutes faster on average. This results in a time saving of around 20 percent over an entire shift."
José da Silva, Chief Sales Officer of the ICS Group, adds: "High goods throughput and speed with maximum error minimization are key success parameters for many companies. In addition to beverage wholesalers, the food industry, logistics service providers and freight forwarders, as well as the automotive sector, are prime examples of this."
As a premium or Tier 1 partner of leading global manufacturers, ICS integrates the solution with customized scanner systems and also provides optional, individually scalable service packages for an optimal hardware lifecycle. The wireless scanners from Zebra's DS36 series have proven themselves in practice, enabling up to 20 codes to be scanned simultaneously with Multiscan and reliably read at a distance of up to 21 meters. The Zebra DS36 also impresses with its extreme robustness in accordance with protection class IP67, Bluetooth 4.0 and outstanding battery performance in its device class. as
