Measuring devices for digitalization in the energy industry

Camille Bauer is introducing the next performance level of the Centrax CU3000 and CU5000 in the field of energy automation and therefore also in the context of digitalization. In addition to the "Basic" version, the "Advanced" version is now also available. As a 2-in-1 device, it combines the functionality of a measuring device for monitoring electrical variables with the possibilities of a freely programmable PLC in one housing. It uses the Codesys development environment, which can be used to create industrial automation applications in accordance with the IEC 61131-3 standard. For the RS-485 and Ethernet interfaces, the device can now also query and process measured value or status information from any Modbus devices. The query is carried out either via Modbus/TCP or Modbus/RTU. An extensive library of predefined Modbus devices is available for this purpose, making it much easier to integrate the required information.

According to the manufacturer, the newly added functionalities of the "ADVANCED" version and the existing 2-in-1 approach result in a cost-benefit advantage.

In addition, definition errors in the queries are excluded in advance. Up to 1,000 registers are available for user-specific measured value mapping and up to 200 status information (coils). The user can thus provide the data of his control application universally for higher-level systems (SCADA, data management system, etc.) and is therefore extremely flexible. sw
