Hose fittings with over-assembly protection
Voss has developed hose fittings with overmount protection. If a fitter continues to tighten beyond the optimum assembly end, the end faces of the over-mounting protection and the connecting piece meet, resulting in a significant, noticeable increase in force.
This noticeable increase in force signals the end of the assembly to the worker. The surfaces in contact stop any further force being applied and thus prevent the connection cone from being inadvertently widened and the sealing surfaces from being damaged. The new components have a metal sealing cone on the connection side and an embedded O-ring made of FKM. Fluororubber, or FKM for short, is an above-average ageing-resistant material with high resistance to ozone and a wide range of oils and greases. The O-ring ensures a high degree of leak-tightness even under dynamic loads, high pressures or vibrations. The fittings are made of steel and have a zinc-nickel coating as standard. This gives the fittings above-average corrosion resistance and resistance to mechanical stresses. sw
