Counters and switches with ATEX certification

A safe bet

The pneumatic totalizers and time counters 495, 497 and 499 as well as the proximity switches of the 490 series from Hengstler are now ATEX-certified. This makes them suitable for use in environments with potentially explosive atmospheres.

Pneumatic counters and switches are the best choice wherever electronic or mechanical versions should not be used for safety reasons. This applies to areas where flammable powders are transported as well as to oil and gas processing plants.

The 495 and 497 preset counters and the 490 series proximity switches are now ATEX-certified.

The pneumatic totalizers, time counters and proximity switches from Hengstler are also an alternative to mechanical, electronic or electromechanical models because, unlike these, they function perfectly even in environments with high levels of dust or electromagnetic interference fields. According to the manufacturer, pneumatic counters also make it easier to set up control systems in hazardous environments than electronic counters or PLCs and are also explosion-proof.

Ideal areas of application include, for example, the control of pressurized enclosures in hazardous areas or the control of periodic vibrations in vibrating conveyor belts with explosive goods. sw
