Zimmer Group opens new production facility in India

The opening ceremony of the Zimmer Group's newest production facility in India will take place on April 16, 2024.

The Indian subsidiary has been operating in Pune since 2017. The new production facility has now been built in Kikvi, near Pune. "We have clear expansion plans for our subsidiary in India," explains Achim Gauss, Managing Director of the Zimmer Group.

The opening of the new plant is an important milestone in this strategy. The global expansion should enable the automation expert to tap into new markets and support local customers faster and more effectively.

Focus on expandability and sustainability

The new plant includes a modern infrastructure with 1,580 m² of production space and an additional 930 m² of office space. In addition to the use of solar energy, the introduction of recycling systems and the minimization of paper consumption, the focus is on the aspect of expandability. The new plant will offer customized solutions and automation technology that meet Zimmer Group standards.

Training and demonstration area

The facility includes a modern quality control room, a fully equipped training and demonstration area and a best-in-class design studio to support collaboration with the German headquarters. The local team is trained in accordance with Zimmer Group training standards.
