Solid carbide drills for machining stainless steel

The new solid carbide drill bit from the Force-M range from tool manufacturer Dormer Pramet is made from micro-grain carbide and is particularly suitable for stainless steel applications.

All solid carbide drills from the Force range have a modified geometry with 4-surface cross-grinding to improve self-centring and therefore hole quality. According to Dormer Pramet, this has also increased chip formation, wear resistance and, as a result, tool life. The features of the drills include CTW (Continuously Thinned Web) technology, which reduces cutting forces during drilling. The Force-M drills with internal coolant supply are available in sizes from 3 to 16 mm and 1/8 to 5/8 inch as well as for drilling depths of 3×D (R467) and 5×D (R463).
