T3.18 EVO

Fast production and exceptional component quality require a particularly efficient process: thread rolling is the ideal production method here. The material fibers are not cut, but displaced and thus permanently formed. This has a positive effect on quality, performance, cost-effectiveness and process reliability. As one of the technology and market leaders in this machining technique, LMT Fette is now expanding its portfolio with a new size - the T3.18 EVO. The new tangential rolling head is not only particularly easy to handle, but is also suitable for installation on multi-spindle automatic lathes with limited installation space thanks to its significantly reduced center height. In addition, the resistance of the T3.18 EVO rolling head has been significantly increased by reducing stress peaks. This leads to greater process reliability, particularly in applications with high-strength materials. The stability of the rolling head is also significantly improved by a laser-melting 3D printing process.

New hedgehog cutter variant of the MultiEdge T90 PRO4

The revision of the MultiEdge T90 PRO4 tangential indexable insert milling system also generates a significant leap in performance. The range was developed back in 2016 specifically for roughing and semi-finishing operations in steel and cast iron and has been further optimized since then. The new features of the MultiEdge T90 PRO4 are hedgehog milling cutters, which are available in a diameter range from 50 to 80 mm, and the indexable inserts with chip breakers. The indexable inserts enable cutting depths of up to 11.5 mm and are suitable for machining cast iron (ISO-K materials) as well as steel (ISO-P) and stainless steels (ISO-M). The optimum ratio of tool diameter and number of teeth in combination with the high feed rates that can be achieved makes enormous metal removal rates possible and not only shortens cycle times, but also reduces overall process costs.

CARBLoop

With the CARBLoop, LMT Tools provides a tool solution for the dynamic machining process of trochoidal milling. The milling cutter has been specially designed for innovative milling and tailored to the process-specific requirements. It is characterized by the offset chip dividers, which reduce the chip volume by half and ensure smooth chip evacuation even at high cutting speeds. A significant reduction in vibration, high cutting speeds and maximum cutting performance are just some of the clear advantages of this trochoidal milling cutter.

The CARBLoop is available in two versions: as CARBLoop STEEL for ISO-P and ISO-K applications and as CARBLoop INOX for machining ISO-S and ISO-M materials. The cutting geometry, coating and cutting edge treatment have been specially developed for the materials to be machined and are optimally matched to each other.

GearSkiving

With its high performance and wide range of applications, the gear skiving process offers great potential for the production of internal and external gears with faster machining times and lower tool costs, as well as saving on special machines. The so-called axis cross angle in conjunction with a synchronous movement between the tool and workpiece axes as well as an axial feed is used to form the desired gearing during gear skiving. The complex multi-cut strategies typical of the process often lead to a complex path to the final good part. Software developed by LMT Fette allows a detailed assessment of the relevant process parameters as early as the design phase.
