Laser engraving
Laser marker for metal processing
ACI Laser will be presenting its laser marking products at Metav. Metals are particularly suitable for processing with a laser, especially in terms of marking time and quality. They have a wide variety of types and are considered to be very robust and durable.
Powerful fiber lasers are primarily used for marking metals. According to the manufacturer, fiber lasers are particularly suitable for time-critical marking processes. Depending on the application, the right system can be selected for annealing marking, layer ablation or laser engraving. Annealing marking is created by heating the material, primarily steel, to a high temperature. This does not create any marks, which is why this method is often used for high-precision surfaces such as shaft marking.
In laser engraving, on the other hand, the laser beam removes the material by vaporization or melt displacement, leaving a noticeable indentation in the material. Depending on the material and laser setting, the finest surface engravings through to deep engravings can be realized. Finally, layer ablation is a form of engraving in which the laser vaporizes the workpiece surface and reveals the material underneath. This is very popular with anodized aluminium, where particularly beautiful and high-contrast inscriptions can be created. sw
