Feed milling cutter
High-feed cutting for rough machining
At Metav, Meusburger is presenting the WZF 11512 and WZF 11522 high-feed cutters, HFC cutters for short (HFC stands for High-Feed-Cutting). They are mainly used for roughing operations. This process is considered to be extremely economical, as very high cutting speeds and feed rates can be achieved. These milling cutters also guarantee greater process reliability, as controlled wear development takes place without the cutting edge breaking out.
The high-feed milling cutters made of solid carbide with TiAlN coating cover a wide range of applications. This includes both soft and hardened steels up to 63 HRC. For example, according to the manufacturer, the HFC milling cutters in the soft application area can be used optimally for relieving chamfered bolts or for inserting pockets for cable ducts that require deep milling. For hardened steels, the main area of application is the roughing of surfaces and contours in the 2-axis range. The manufacturer offers two different versions: a long version (WZF 11512) and an extra-long version (WZF 11522), each with diameters of 3-16 mm. The HFC roughing cutters have an internal coolant supply from a diameter of 5 mm. sw
