For transport between the sorting centers, most parcel services load the vehicles with loose parcels. Regardless of whether the sorting center has an automated sorting system, the parcels must always be unloaded from the containers by hand and then loaded again by hand after sorting.
Usually, a high working speed is required, where even minor incorrect postures can quickly lead to injuries. With the Parcelift, Piab's subsidiary Vaculex shows how the manual unloading of trucks or containers in parcel service and distribution centers can be carried out in a back-friendly manner, even in confined spaces: This device is a special tube lifter that can be integrated into the existing conveyor technology and placed in the truck or container. It is installed on the telescopic conveyors for this purpose. This relieves the strain on employees even in confined spaces with low ceiling heights and narrow passages.
With a load capacity of up to 40 kilograms, it is also suitable for heavy packages of various shapes such as boxes, sacks or metal sheets. The Parcelift itself is constructed from high-strength lightweight materials such as carbon fiber composites and aluminum, and the lifting device weighs just 5.8 kilograms. This facilitates a high working speed when handling materials, as the operator can move the lifting device quickly and without great effort. The range of accessories includes lighting and heating. pb
