Modular gripper
The Tünkers OneScrew System, TOS for short, is a modular gripper system developed by the automation specialist from Ratingen.
The basic idea behind the development of this system was to create connections with just one screw that would allow the modules to be connected to the base frame quickly and easily - hence the name OneScrew. TOS was also intended to offer the advantages of a rigid frame with positive connection of the cantilevers. The fact that two screws are ultimately used in the Tünkers TOS system is due to the strength requirements placed on the highly dynamic robot grippers in practice.
The basic frame of the system is based on an octagonal profile with an offset hole pattern, which ensures a positive fit. The connections are based on the standard Tünkers round tube components and are friction-locked together. In addition to the dimensions TOS001 (image) and TOS002, TOS003 has now been newly developed as a particularly compact variant to ensure positive locking from the base frame to the attachments such as tensioners.
The assembly of the basic elements with brackets, connectors, adapters or flange connections does not require any special tools and can be carried out with the OneScrew wrench or a standard 6 mm Allen key in a minimum of time. Thanks to the special EightBeam dual profile, extremely large gripper applications can also be implemented.
In addition to the classic field of application in the automotive industry, the TOS gripper system from Tünkers can also be used excellently as a standardized modular system in many other production areas, in fixture construction or in the construction of special AGVs with special cantilevers. In addition to grippers, clamping systems can also be used in conjunction with TOS. Thanks to its fast and therefore cost-effective assembly, TOS is also particularly suitable as a basis for the production of small quantities.
The modular system from Tünkers offers a wide range of products for efficient use with the TOS system. In addition to the classic pneumatic grippers, pneumatic and electric clamps, swivel clamps or even locking cylinders in various dimensions can be used.
