Mechatronic gripper

Smart with active force maintenance

The intelligent parallel gripper Schunk EGI was specifically designed for handling tasks in electronics, pharmaceutical and laboratory applications. With its individually programmable stroke of up to 57.5 millimetres per jaw and equally flexible gripping forces of up to 100 newtons, the robustly designed mechatronic gripper in size 80 covers a wide range of workpieces.

Thanks to the integrated intelligence, even flexible, deformation- or breakage-sensitive components can be handled. A specially developed, active gripping force maintenance system ensures that the gripping force built up by the EGI 80 is almost completely retained even in the event of a power failure or emergency stop. According to the manufacturer, commissioning is simple: All basic functions can be configured via a web server integrated as standard, without the need for additional software. With its certified, IRT-capable Profinet interface (Conformance Class C), the EGI meets all the requirements for high-performance applications. The smart small parts gripper will initially be available in size 80. Size 40 will follow at the beginning of 2020, with a stroke of 40 millimetres per finger and a gripping force of 70 newtons. as
