Handling unit
Compact handling
Whether in the watch industry, medical sector, microsystems or precision engineering - small and light components often have to be moved automatically. With Minispin, IEF-Werner has developed a highly dynamic unit.
Users can achieve a total cycle time of less than 240 milliseconds for components weighing up to 20 grams. Depending on the application, it can be used as a stand-alone solution or combined with linear units. The basis is a lever arm on the drive shaft of the motor-gearbox combination. A sleeve is bolted to the end of the lever arm on a pivot-mounted interface; in the basic version, it is positively driven by a toothed belt and is always aligned in the same orientation during the rotary movement of the lever arm. The end effector on the lever arm can be operated with vacuum or compressed air via a pneumatically operated rotary distributor.
The user can attach both a suction and a pneumatic parallel gripper to the sleeve. The lines for the media are integrated in the lever arm. The gripper can be equipped with vacuum switches or quick-acting valves to ensure that it picks up the components safely and without delay. Thanks to modular rotary distributors, the unit can be mounted upside down or in a mirror image. The Minispin Plus version is equipped with a second servomotor that also drives the quill, allowing it to be positioned freely and independently while the lever arm rotates. Thanks to the additional degree of freedom, the unit can, for example, remove a component from the pallet and rotate it into the right position for a camera inspection during the movement. pb
