Presses according to new standard

When presses are redesigned, modernized or overhauled, this is always done in accordance with the standard. DIN EN ISO 16092 now applies, which means that press manufacturer Tox Pressotechnik has to establish new processes in order to comply with the standard.

For the first time, the new standard includes servomotor presses as a sub-category of mechanical systems. © Tox Pressotechnology

Whereas there used to be a separate standard for each type of press, all variants are now grouped together in one DIN EN ISO. For the first time, the new standard includes servomotor presses as a sub-category of mechanical systems. This explains why Tox has to change the adjustment and evaluation for its presses with electric drive to the new standard.

The comprehensive quality assurance system is also applied to special machines. Further changes regulate the safe operation of the presses: If, for example, the opening to the working area of the press is larger than 650 mm, the two-hand control must be supplemented by an additional protective measure.
